It’s gotten pretty crazy

It has been way too long since I shared my life. I thought September and most of October had been crazy. We have been shorthanded because of an illness and a resignation. Many days, we finished work from the day before around noon.

The last 2-1/2 weeks it’s been even worse since our boss resigned and left. She was not just a manager but did transcription as well. (I do medical transcription at a hospital.) We have an interim manager who normally oversees another part of our team. I’ve been working with one new hire for 2 weeks and I’ve been training her in our system and doctor requirements since she sits next to me. My production is down because of time spent with her and in reviewing her work. We are missing our manager’s transcription as well – she always produced great work in volume because of her years of experience and diligence.

Days I have needed to work overtime, work consumes almost all my time between the office and my commute – a minimum of 100 minutes total. Clinging to peace has been my goal each day. I learned long ago that I am responsible for my happiness and attitude, no one else. What I think is critical and “The Mind Connection” by Joyce Meyer has reminded me of some of the finer points of capturing my thoughts according to 2nd Corinthians 10:5:

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, (NASB)

Last night I asked God for grace to be able to write this morning and He was faithful to help me rest well and get up when I would have peace and quiet. I miss talking with everyone and encouraging you all to make time for God each day. Doing that myself has kept my sanity and peace with the craziness of work.

I encourage you today to make your own Cleft for Life and meet there with God each day. If you’re new to my site, the basics are linked above under a special tab. Reviewing my original writing will help you understand why I think having a Cleft for Life is critical for every Christian.
