My heavenly Father continues to confirm greater depth in our relationship, His purpose for my life in this season includes a plan for service.
I walk again in the calling He instructed me to start in the first two years of knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord. Words have come forth for everyone regarding letting the Word of God do its work to grow us individually and as a church, without comparison and with patience. My church continues to grow under the leadership of elders who demonstrate His goodness through their lives and teaching (www.tccknox.com). My next service addition is facilitating a book study regarding prophecy. I look forward to serving even more as His plan unfolds.
A recent sermon reminded me that I am not a renter in the Kingdom of God; I am an adopted and much-loved child. This reminder has set my feet on a path to increased trust and love of God. I remembered a time in my early walk as a Christian when the Father assured me that His lap was my safe place, and that His throne is a rocking chair when I need Him to comfort me as a child needs closeness. I may have matured as He has done His work in me, but I remain a child who needs her Father and His love and affection. Knowing He chose me and adopted me by the blood of Jesus deepens our relationship in more complete ways. The sermon that reminded me that I do not rent a room in my Father’s house reinforced the certainty of His love for me as a child. I need never return to the slavery of sin because of the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:14-16 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, The ESV® Bible (The Holy Bible, English Standard Version®), © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers.
