Encouragement from friends

The encouragement of friends helps me navigate challenging times. My church is in a season of prayer and fasting for our body and ourselves. Deciding on my most pressing concerns was challenging, and two of my dear friends helped greatly. They have also both had wisdom for me about what God is saying about my life and my purpose for His kingdom.

I know I am a word person. Indeed, this blog started many years ago at the behest of my then pastor who encouraged us to do something to make a dream happen. God has used me in word gifts in many ways since I was born again. Those gifts continue to mature and are for the body of Christ, as spiritual gifts are intended to be. Part of my prayers during this special season is how to best offer those gifts.

The women who help me have been my friends and sisters in the Lord for many years. I value our relationships greatly and seek out their counsel and pray for them and their concerns as well. Friends who understand the history of your life and share theirs with you enriches relationship and trust. Hearing you are not crazy from someone who loves you makes the path less rocky.

This Holy Week celebrates the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on behalf of all the world. I am grateful I responded to His offer of salvation so many years ago. As I mentioned in my last post, anyone can choose to be God’s child. We make this choice by accepting the sacrifice of the Jesus for our sins. We ask Him to be Lord and Savior and are adopted into the family of God. You can go to God at any time and tell Him of your choice in the name of Jesus. I encourage you to make that choice and find friends among believers to encourage you as my friends have done for me in this season of seeking answers. I look forward to clarity from God about His plan for my life and purpose in His kingdom.
