New home, new contentment

Eric Berthe

I write to you all, more than 15,000 subscribers, from my new home. Moved but not yet all moved in. But my computer is set up and connected to the internet once more.

This apartment in a senior housing location answers prayer for provision. Rent is far less, and I can manage without additional income. God is faithful in that He allowed my name to go to the top of the waiting list in less than 24 hours after I registered.

Large northeast windows provide exceptional daytime lighting. Designed for potential wheelchair use, the layout is spacious and accommodating no matter the need. No carpet means no tripping. The kitchen is the second largest I have ever had in my home; only my four-bedroom home in Houston was larger.

The location is a redevelopment center around a former elementary school. The parking lot is camera monitored, gates secure the buildings overnight, and the buildings require fob access. I feel safe.

We are a mostly quiet bunch. One neighbor feels the need to blast Oldies music on occasion, but most of us are seniors who have learned to enjoy peace. I have met a few neighbors and look forward to good relationships that allow me to share my life experiences.

God has been and is faithful to provide me a home where I can live in safety and peace as He promises.
