Uncomfortable Answers

Gabor from Hungary

My habit is to ask God for wisdom, knowledge, discernment, and understanding regarding my life, my health, and my future. He is faithful to answer. Sometimes though, the answers are uncomfortable.

As you may recall, I have struggled for years with autoimmune disease manifestations. One was resolved with surgery. I identified the trigger for another, and it is now controlled by avoiding the triggering food. Still others remain problematic.

My functional medicine specialist agreed that testing for food sensitivities might reveal the information we needed to adjust my diet for optimal response. The test results were almost astonishing; many foods I have enjoyed and deemed healthy for most of my life were found to be reactive and detrimental.

My initial reaction was to become a bit depressed. The overhaul needed to my diet was overwhelming, as I had already eliminated many foods I had found unsettling to my health. And now foods I had trusted to be good for me were found to be the same.

Since then, I choose to remember that God is faithful to listen to my prayers because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His righteousness imparted to me. These answers are from God and for my good.

Psalm 6:9 The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord receives my prayer. (AMPC)

Moving forward and implementing these changes will result in the healing God promises to His people. Jesus took on all that is wrong with my body and soul into His that I may be whole. I expect His faithfulness will result in restoration of health and wellness considering the truth He has revealed about my body and its needs and responses. My hope is in His promise.

Hebrews 10:23 So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word. (AMPC)
