Pathways 2024

Alvimann

My mission this year is seeking God’s pathways. God always graciously gives me a word for the new year. He leads me daily and annually, for which I am so grateful. The word “pathways” is for 2024 and applies in more than one area of my life.

First, I need the pathway to my healing. I am enduring a renewed onslaught of a chronic condition that has plagued me for about a decade. It is a gastrointestinal disorder that is debilitating both physically and emotionally. I have taken medications that worked at one time. One antibiotic worked for a while but then did not when it was prescribed again. God led me to a functional medicine specialist last year. The prescribed herbal treatments have been proven in multiple studies to be more effective with fewer side effects than the medication previously taken. My hope is that this is the pathway to healing I have sought for years.

The second pathway is for continuing provision for my needs. God is my provider, has been and continues to be. I seek clear indication for how that occurs. Deadlines this year require certainty of available resources. The Lord will meet those deadlines as He always has and will show me how He chooses to provide.

The third pathway is for new/renewed relationships. Since I moved more than two years ago, I have been facing health problems that have curtailed my ability to fully immerse myself in my new community. One pathway that I believe will help has been delayed because of my illness. The healing pathway will, I hope, allow me to become more active again.

As always, I asked God for the scripture regarding this word, and He showed me the specific one just today. It struck my heart as I read this morning, and I was sensitive to the word because of a book I read this past year. John Bevere’s book “The Awe of God” (https://www.amazon.com/Awe-God-Astounding-Healthy-Transforms/dp/1400336708/ref=sr_1_1?crid=LWZZ3OEP2EOD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CX_H0SIsl0x_8y1j0vgGNVCqdGoRQDe3ClV3Xn0SeoVKb4qpgIrcVCQhbgL3AESsTTCIMeHQh0xqID7v_DGYPx7P8g_qiDbiXjvJ2kje1uyvNgW6iDhgi-Qyb2fxBEWq90hEu82FK0ijGMhuIee4PSIOssiRkP9P7Nztdp_sRprMfum2MtBufz3yzjc8VR0gq1Yf9LgvquUq8WP45wvS-ZT98S6i-hUYnCPHIg3kuJA.9eCqF-UhWP5wOAv3Zfius8dMk6_N2JtuXNn4uPuw8Mk&dib_tag=se&keywords=the+awe+of+god+john+bevere+book&qid=1708458264&sprefix=the+awe+of+god%2Caps%2C337&sr=8-1). It reawakened my understanding of the true fear of the Lord. I am blessed remembering teaching from early in my walk of being transformed as a believer. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and it is God’s wisdom I need to identify the pathways He has in store this year.
