Isolation marks this season for many of us, especially those who live alone, as I do. God provides a unique connection for me five days a week that has made all the difference in my attitude and ability to not just persevere but thrive. He reminds me every day of the importance of worshiping Him and Him alone and that worship changes me into a more and more powerful intercessor.
The primary source of these reminders has been and continues to be Kent Henry and Carriage House Ministries online prophetic worship and intercessory community. https://www.carriagehouseministries.com/ Kent and Carla, with help from son Matt, have been leading a group from around the world in prayer and praise, worship and intercession since soon after the quarantine began in March. After 91 days of continuous times of worship, we’ve settled into a five day a week schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 4 p.m. and Wednesday and Saturday at 7 p.m. US Central time. My fervent petition regarding worship is asking God to never let me forget how significant live worship is to my spiritual and soul health. The COVID-19 quarantine and all its ramifications highlight how much I need worship with the body of Christ. Kent’s leadership in worshiping using the word of God is especially prophetic and encouraging – remembering what God says about me and all believers, as well as His plan of hope for the world softens and strengthens me at the same time. I often tell others that prayer is my real job, and it is true. Participating in a group whose goal is to intercede for the world and individuals under girds my calling for my local church, my family, my nation, and the people of the earth.
