I once thought I would never write anything but news stories or other people’s reports. But first came a blog, then a novella, and a book about God’s faithfulness and spending time with Him. Most recently, I have a new novel in the works. This week, I started hearing a song in my heart; no music, just the words but it goes like this:
A little girl afraid, rolling thunder attacks her world
She cries in daddy’s arms
Until he shows her the beauty
In the storm and she’s home safe
Will she find home and be safe again
Will she find home and be safe
Since he left, will she find home
And feel safe again
A young woman receives the promise
She believes he’ll always be there
They become home for each other
And she feels safe in his arms
Will she find home and be safe again
Will she find home and be safe
Since he left, will she find home
And feel safe again
The years pass, there’s no home for her
She makes the house of place of love anyway
But she still longs to feel safe again and begins
To find home in the Father’s arms
Will she find home and be safe again
Will she find home and be safe
She looks for his coming when she’ll find home
And feel safe here again
I learned many years ago that home is not a dwelling. Home is the people you love and who love you, especially your spouse. Oneness is a bond that should never be separated but by the end of life. I thank God that He hides me in safety until that day.
Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
