Warfare on the Horizon

The stirring began in September that warfare is on the horizon. A military based TV show came to my notice. Its authenticity is well documented. I have been learning from it ever since. Teamwork and pushing through until a mission is accomplished constitute its hallmarks.

Then in October, our service team Bible study focuses on the armor of God for the believer. We study Ephesians 6 and being protected for the future is pressing into my spirit and soul.

I’m hearing a new season in my life is imminent. This time of resting and healing continues but will no longer be full time. I have the tools in place to publish my writing. When I feel accomplished, I will offer services to the independent author community, but my sense is that it will be limited in time spent.

The gravity of the coming season cannot be exaggerated. I believe that we will see greater darkness in the world and that the church will shine more brightly, drawing many to Jesus Christ and salvation through His sacrifice on the cross. My calling is at the heart of the new season, first as one who prays as an intercessor and second as a writer continually pointing toward the faithfulness of God. I will be part of a team; the example of a team player is on display in the TV show mentioned above and grows larger in my heart and mind.

There will be one who needs my support to accomplish the task before him. God dealt with the inappropriate independent spirit I adopted as a child due to the need for me to play a more supporting role. Our dependence on one another will be dramatic and overshadow the lives we lead. The mission we will share requires oneness of spirit and soul; nothing less will have the strength and endurance to achieve God’s goal for us. So as the darkness grows in the world, we the church are to allow His faithfulness and goodness to shine through us:

Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
