Still in the Waiting Room

Timing is everything, some say. The waiting room is my current figurative location, waiting for my name to be called. Apparently, it is how God is working in me patience and the ability to wait with a good attitude. He is certainly persistent and I believe the work will be a thorough one.

Reviewing His promises about provision and future relationship yields peace; I find myself going to my electronic Bible notes regularly for reassurance. Believing our God cannot lie supersedes and overrides my past history. Broken promises and unmet needs litter my life and can overwhelm my trust if allowed. Instead, I choose daily to dwell on His faithfulness in my life: I have a home by His grace and the generosity of friends; my health is being restored; and I have hope for a future with the love of my life.

Studying a television show in order to learn more about plot and character development shows me that my real job as a prayer warrior is very specific to me and my personality. Like a sniper, I pray quick directed prayers, many times for complete strangers. I often never see the outcome, but obeying the Holy Spirit is its own reward, as giving is for me. I prefer blessing other anonymously whenever possible.

This attitude of serving and rejoicing and worshiping while I wait yields a peace that only can come by His hand on my life. I rejoice today in the certainty of the future vision coming to pass:

Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time. It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay. Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright ©2015 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, CA 90631.
