Waiting on the promise

Hebrew 10: 35-37:

Do not, therefore, fling away your [fearless] confidence, for it has a glorious and great reward. For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised. For yet in a very little while, he who is coming will come, and will not delay.

This scripture is coming alive to me. In reviewing various translations, the excitement of the surety of salvation is spreading to the certainty that God will keep His promises for my life. The notion of having fearless confidence in God and what Jesus has done to save the world is spreading in my soul to include all that I believe is His plan for my life.

Health and wholeness

I am walking out the healing that God has promised. Attacking a long-term problem via a new treatment has begun, and I know that it will accomplish the completion of my healing. Acknowledging the extent of my illness in prayer has freed me from a negative mindset. Changing my view of appropriate treatment is also freeing. Sweeping away negative attitudes about change in eating patterns widens my view of possibilities and the resulting hope.

The certainty of Christ’s return overflows into my understanding of His plan for my life until that glorious day, and living victoriously becomes more certain as well. I realize that often, circumstances have caused me to “fling away” the hope that comes from knowing God’s plan for my life cannot be thwarted – the only hindrance is my lack of cooperation.

And so, I continue to wait on the promises He’s given, no longer with doubt, but instead with fearless confidence.

May the Lord make you confident in His promises for you today!
